How to reach the editor

Mark and Metal is an independent editorial desk, not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. Its subject is one measurement, taken from named public sources and republished with the date and the hour it was read: the trade body publishes a price for each mark; the third column divides it by the gold that mark contains.

The editor named on the pages is the person responsible for what the site states: Laila Haddad, Precious metals editor. Writing to editor@goldpricebrokerae.com reaches the editor directly. The address exists so that a reader can report a figure that looks wrong, a source that has moved or closed, a question about how the measurement is taken, or a correction.

When to report a figure

A message is worth sending when a figure on the site does not match the named source at the date and hour shown. The sources are named under every table, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher before writing. If the publisher has changed its page or the link no longer opens, that is equally worth reporting.

A question about how the measurement is taken is also welcome. The desk can explain which public source is used, when it is read, and how the third column is calculated. If a reader believes a figure is wrong, the desk will check the source again and, if the figure is wrong, correct it. The correction is dated.

How corrections are handled

A correction is made in the page itself, at the point where the wrong figure appeared. The editor adds the date of the correction, so a reader can see when the change was made. The desk does not promise to announce corrections separately, but a corrected figure will carry its correction date.

If a reader writes about a figure that is already correct, the desk will not change it. If a source has closed or moved, the desk will look for the same figure at another named public source and, if none is found, the table is marked as unavailable for that date. A reader's message is read by the editor and answered where an answer is possible.

No advice and no accounts

This desk cannot give personal investment advice, cannot help with a broker's account, and cannot offer tips. Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer; the figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. A question asking whether to buy, sell, or hold gold will not receive an answer.

The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs; the site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of them.
