Terms of reading

The terms on which these pages are read

This page states what the desk is, what it can and cannot do, and how it is paid. Read it before trusting a figure.

Figures are measurements, not advice

Every figure on this site is a measurement of a published source, taken at a stated date and hour. It describes what something cost at that moment, not what a reader should do with their money. Nothing here is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer. The desk does not tell you to buy, sell, or hold. It only reports the numbers it found, with the source named so you can check them yourself.

The limits of those sources are the limits of this page. If a publisher revises a figure or corrects an error, the reading here may be overtaken by events. The desk does not promise that every number is final, only that it was read carefully and copied honestly. A reader who acts on a figure does so alone, and the decision and its result are theirs.

The desk and its limits

Mark and Metal is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. It takes no orders and executes no trades. The desk’s only work is to read public sources, divide one published number by another, and show the result with the date and hour it was read. It does not verify the sources beyond checking that they are the named publishers.

Because the desk is not a broker, it cannot answer questions about an account, a pending order, or a price offered by any shop. It has no access to any reader’s money or personal records. A reader who needs help with a transaction should contact the broker or shop they used, not this site. The desk can only speak to the figures it published.

The affiliate relationship

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader clicks that link and opens an account there, the broker pays this desk a commission. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. The commission does not change the broker’s prices or terms for that reader. This arrangement is stated plainly here and on the page about the publisher.

The affiliate relationship does not influence the figures. The desk does not choose which prices to publish based on the broker’s interests, and it does not suppress a reading that looks unfavourable. The measurements are taken from named public sources before the affiliate link is considered. A reader who wants to avoid the link can type the broker’s address directly and the desk will still have published the same numbers.

Privacy and corrections

The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader’s browser. The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs; the site’s publisher does not read a reader’s personal data out of them. Following the broker’s link leaves this site and the broker’s own terms and privacy policy apply.

Writing to editor@goldpricebrokerae.com reaches the editor, Laila Haddad, who is responsible for what the site states. Corrections are the reason the address exists: if a figure is wrong, it is corrected and the correction is dated. The desk does not promise to answer every message, but it reads them and fixes errors it can confirm. A reader who spots a mistake should write with the source and the date they checked.
